The DreamBig Academy introduces students (ages 8-14) to the power within themselves. Youth begin exploring their strengths, values, and leadership potential while building confidence and social-emotional skills.

Focus: Confidence, Identity, and Leadership Foundations

DreamBig Academy introduces youth to leadership, confidence-building, and personal development through hands-on activities and mentorship. In this program, students develop a positive sense of identity and learn the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and self-expression.

Students engage in:

  • Social-emotional learning
  • Mentorship and group activities

Each student also develops a SOAR Success Plan to guide their personal growth and success.

Participants will explore core leadership traits by drawing inspiration from eagles,

focusing on themes like vision, resilience, conflict resolution, and responsibility. Monthly guest speakers, and successful male role models from the community, will provide insights into real-world leadership and inspire participants to become leaders in their own lives.

Each student will establish two key goals—one academic and one personal. These goals will serve as guiding pillars throughout the program, with bi-weekly check-ins to track progress. The program fosters an environment where students hold themselves accountable for their academic improvement and personal development.

Bi-weekly grade check-ins are a cornerstone of the program, allowing participants to regularly review their academic standing. Students will work with mentors and counselors to ensure they are on track to meet their academic goals and adjust strategies as needed.

Participants will be encouraged to reflect on their personal growth, from improving self-confidence to learning how to resolve conflicts peacefully. Through interactive discussions, role-play scenarios, and leadership exercises, students will build life skills that extend beyond the classroom.

 Leadership is not just about personal achievement but also about giving back. Each student will participate in one community service project, fostering a sense of responsibility and service to others. This project will also serve as a practical application of the leadership skills they’ve acquired.

 In the last weeks of the program, participants will present a final project that reflects their journey of growth. This project will include a presentation of their goal progress and the lessons they’ve learned about leadership. The final project provides an opportunity for students to showcase their accomplishments and inspire their peers.

Active Participation

Students are expected to attend each session, engage in discussions, and complete all assigned activities.

Goal Commitment

Students must commit to their academic and personal goals, actively working towards achieving them throughout the program.

Accountability

Students will be accountable for their progress, participating in bi-weekly check-ins, and being transparent about their successes and challenges.

Respect and Integrity

Respect for peers, guest speakers, and mentors is essential. Students are expected to demonstrate leadership qualities such as integrity, responsibility, and empathy.

Community Contribution

Each participant will contribute to the community through service projects, reinforcing the idea that leadership involves making a positive 

impact on others.
